NATIONAL donut day is celebrated every year on the first Friday in June, and plenty of businesses – and celebrities – are getting in on the action, offering free or discounted donuts and even limited-edition merchandise.

Two American icons, Dunkin’ and Jelly Roll, are partnering up for the holiday, with the singer and songwriter promoting the coffee and fast food chain – and their National Donut Day deal – alongside his new, limited-edition merchandise collaboration.

What is included in the Jelly Roll x Dunkin’ collab?

Jelly Roll, born Jason Bradley DeFord, has teamed up with Dunkin’ for one of the most iconic collaborations of the year, just in time for National Donut Day.

The Grammy-nominated singer shot a commercial promoting the holiday – and his new exclusive Dunkin’ merchandise – explaining how the fast food and coffee chain was pivotal in coming up with his stage name.

“Everybody always asks me how I got the name Jelly Roll,” the country star starts off.

“Believe it or not, truth is, it’s ’cause of these little guys right here,” he adds, opening up a box of Dunkin’ donuts and taking a bite out of powdered jelly donut.

“Y’all know growing up donuts were truly my kryptonite,” he said.

“My mama used to tell me all the time that I was so sweet, I could open up my own Dunkin’.”

The I Need A Favor singer then offers viewers his tips and tricks for eating donuts – and how he pairs them with his favorite Dunkin’ coffee beverages, before signing off.

“Life’s better with a little Jelly in it,” he said, smiling and flashing a peace sign.

Dunkin’ is releasing a few select new merchandise items for National Donut Day, including a Jelly Roll inspired collaboration.

The limited-edition hoodie is in Dunkin’s signature bright pink color and contains the word JELLY written on the front in a white, bubble-style font.

It’s available only on Dunkin’s website in sizes S through 2XL, and retails for $39.99.

In addition to the Dunkin’ x Jelly Roll hoodie, Dunkin’ is also selling two t-shirts featuring Dunkin’s classic Chocolate Glazed Donut with Sprinkles.

They’re also selling a “Grab Me A Glazed” hoodie featured in a commercial earlier this year starring Dunkin’s biggest fan, Ben Affleck.

Back in April 2024, the country star opened up about his stage name, revealing that he actually isn’t named after the dessert of the same name – jelly rolls.

“I got named Jelly Roll after a jelly donut. My mother didn’t know there was a different pastry called a jelly roll,” he said, as reported by People.

Jelly did reveal that he now gets gifted jelly rolls “all the time,” and he doesn’t mind the mix-up.

“It is awesome. Venues will always have one,” Jelly said, adding: “I love anything with strawberry or grape in it.”

What other celebrities has Dunkin’ teamed up with?

Jelly Roll isn’t the first celebrity – or brand – that Dunkin’ has teamed up with.

For Super Bowl Sunday 2024, Dunkin’ premiered several commercial spots featuring longtime Dunkin’ fan Ben Affleck, his wife, Jennifer Lopez, and his pals, Matt Damon, Tom Brady, Fat Joe, and Jack Harlow.

Affleck, Damon, and Brady famously donned the now-iconic “DunKings” outfits, bright orange-and-pink tracksuits with crown embellishments.

Affleck also starred in a Dunkin’ commercial featuring Ice Spice, promoting the chain’s collaboration with the Bikini Bottom rapper, Ice Spice Munchkins Drink.

Even TikTok influencers have gotten in on the fun, with TikTok sensation Charli D’Amelio joining forces to create a range of beverages based on the star’s favorite, go-to Dunkin’ orders.

To further celebrate National Donut Day, Dunkin’ also collaborated with an unconventional partner – Scrub Daddy.

The unique, limited-edition donut-shaped sponges, available for a limited time on Scrub Daddy’s website, are a great way to scrub away any donut crumbs or spilled coffee stains.

“No one loves donuts and coffee more than Dunkin’ and our amazing customers,” said Beth Turenne, VP of Category Management at Dunkin’.

“National Donut Day is a special day for us because it’s all about celebrating that love and obsession,” she said.

“Plus, we get to share that joy by giving away millions of free donuts,” she added.

Are there any National Donut Day deals?

Whether you call them donuts or doughnuts, there’s even a holiday to commemorate the sweet treat.

National Donut Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday of June, which means National Donut Day 2024 is happening on Friday, June 7.

Several fast food, coffee, and, of course, donut chains are taking part in the celebrations, offering free or discounted donuts.

Dunkin’ is offering customers a free classic donut with the purchase of any beverage item, including their Refreshers and Iced Coffees.

Tim Hortons is also offering Tims Rewards members a free donut with any drink purchase.

Shipley Do-Nuts is offering customers a free donut with any purchase – it doesn’t even have to be a beverage.

We recommend buying one donut to get your second free – calories don’t count on National Donut Day.

Krispy Kreme is also offering customers one free donut – no purchase necessary.

They’ll continue handing out donuts until they run out, but keep in mind that this deal excludes any specialty or limited-edition donuts.

Duck Donuts and Lamar’s Coffee and Donuts is also offering freebies with no purchase necessary.

Duck Donuts will give customers a free cinnamon sugar donut, while LaMar’s will offer shoppers a free Ray’s Original Glazed doughnut.

There is one catch for all freebies – free donuts at Krispy Kreme, Duck Donuts, and Lamar’s Coffee and Donuts are available in-store only –and not online, via third-party delivery or pickup apps, or drive-thru orders.

Voodoo Doughnuts is also getting in on the fun, offering customers a dozen pink Raised Glazed doughnuts for just $10.

That’s a great deal, considering a dozen Voodoo donuts typically range in price from $22.50 to $29.50.

They recommend customers pre-order the donuts by calling their custom order line at 661-786-6366.

While donut shops and chains are more likely to offer deals on donuts for National Donut Day, some other businesses and convenience stores are also taking part in the action.

Select 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations are offering loyalty members a chance to snag a glazed donut for just $1 on Friday.
