RETAILERS nationwide have already started stocking shelves with Halloween candy, costumes, and seasonal decorations.
One savvy shopper revealed how she’s decorating her home on a budget using Dollar Tree product dupes and a dash of DIY magic.

Halloween and Dollar Tree enthusiasts are raving about the discount retailer’s affordable decor.
Kate Banks, known as @kateflipzit on Instagram, shared her unique DIY guide for making a decorative pumpkin garland using just two Dollar Tree items.
Kate used the discount retailer’s Velvet Pumpkin Clips, which come in an assortment of colors, including white, pink, teal, olive green, orange, and navy blue.
Each three-piece set is sold for just $1.25.
The chain has a similar item, Faux Leather Pumpkin Clips, that also retail for $1.25.
To complete her DIY look, she also used some twine.
Dollar Tree sells Crafter’s Square Natural Jute Cord for $1.25, a steal for 256 feet of twine.
The discount chain also sells Crafter’s Square Colorful Baker’s Twine in packs of three for shoppers looking to add a bit of color to their decor.
The colorful twine retails for $1.25.
To make the garland, Kate followed a quick and easy process.
To start, she purchased the twine for $1.25, and five packs of the Velvet Pumpkin Clips, which set her back an additional $6.25.
She then “pulled the clips out of the bottom of the pumpkin, and peeled off any hot glue left behind.”
After cutting some twine, she “gently” lifted the stems of each pumpkin, and “twisted the twine underneath the corners” so it appeared to be “hiding” under each stem.
For just $7.50, Kate managed to create a cute, whimsical garland perfect for the spooky season.
Dollar Tree dupes

Savvy shoppers have scoured Dollar Tree to find dupes of their favorite products
Shoppers found a perfect replica of a $150 set of Pottery Barn plates and bowls. Plus, Dollar Tree has matching mugs.
Dollar Tree also had dupes for the viral Starbucks tumblers.
Customers found dupes for Home Depot’s $39 outdoor solar lights.
Dollar Tree has a dupe for The Pink Stuff cleaning paste, too.
Kate’s Instagram followers raved about the affordable DIY decor.
“It’s so cute,” one follower wrote.
“Love it!” a second follower commented.
“This is BY FAR the cutest Dollar Tree hack I’ve ever seen,” a third follower wrote, adding several clapping hands emojis to her comment.
“So cute… thank you for the idea!” another follower wrote.
Kate’s DIY hack was also much more affordable than its pricier counterpart, a Pumpkin Felt Garland from Drew & Jonathan Home.
Created by Property Brothers duo Drew and Jonathan Scott, the home furnishing line offers “casual and refined styles that seamlessly fit into your home.”
The duo’s Pumpkin Felt Garland, sold at Anthropologie, retails for $34, nearly five times the cost of Kate’s Dollar Tree DIY dupe.
Some shoppers have also left reviews indicating that the Pumpkin Felt Garland wasn’t worth the hype.
“This item is not worth the price,” one shopper wrote.
“I do like the colors but couldn’t justify keeping it because of the lack of durability and cheap materials,” they added.
“This garland wasn’t anything special and just looked okay,” another shopper wrote.
Dollar Tree pricing

Despite the name of the store, Dollar Tree recently added items that cost more than $1 to its inventory.
Most items at the store cost no more than $1.25, but items in the Dollar Tree Plus section cost up to $5.
Dollar Tree introduced Plus aisles to 100 locations in 2019 as part of an effort to diversify its products.
By 2022, Dollar Tree had added the items to over 1,500 locations.
“We believe testing additional price points above $1 for Dollar Tree products will enable us over time to expand our assortments, introduce new products and meet more of our customers’ everyday needs,” president and CEO Michael Witynski said in a statement.
“Our brand promise is that customers get great value for what they spend at Dollar Tree. We will continue to be fiercely protective of that promise, regardless of the price point.”
SPOOKY SAVINGS
Halloween enthusiasts looking to decorate their homes on a budget should look no further than Dollar Tree.
The discount chain has dozens of affordable decor items, many of which are dupes for much pricier counterparts at other retailers.
One bargain hunter showed off another DIY decor item they made using Dollar Tree products.
Their skeleton hand wreath holder cost just $5 to make, compared to Pottery Barn’s $79 version.
Another shopper found a trio of decorative table-toppers for just $3 each, compared to Michaels, which sold a near-identical petrifying plant for $30.
